Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. She is the daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor, a former bank executive, as well as Jennifer Marina Joy, a psychologist who is half-Spanish, and half-English woman. Her father was an Argentine who had Scottish and English roots. Her mother is Spanish and English descendance. Taylor-Joy, who is the youngest of five children. Four are born from her father's prior marriage. Her family lived in Buenos Aires from the time she reached the age of six until they moved to Victoria, London. According to Taylor-Joy the relocation was difficult and she refused to learn English to the hope of moving back to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school after she switched from Northlands. Later, she enrolled in Queen's Gate School to study ballet and to perform in school's productions. She left high school at the age of 16 in order to concentrate on her acting profession. Taylor-Joy was always aware of her desire to be an actress. She was offered a chance by Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management, who offered her a modelling job.
