Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Following her move into England from Greece at the age of 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. First foreign-born graduate to be elected president in the prestigious debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice portal that offered critiques of the state of the nation's politics. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to contest as an independent candidate during the California recall vote to succeed the then governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in this list. The same year, the Guardian included her in the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. This included many AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. Although she had a close relationship with father, her relationship to her mom shaped the rest of her life. Through her early times, she demonstrated leadership skills for which she is still well-known. When she was in her 16th year she moved to Britain to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third female to be elected president. In 1972, she earned an honorary degree in Economics. Her professional career as a journalist and television host started after her graduation. In addition, she appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
