Rickards was picked, in March 2014, as Kristen Rose - the sister to Dakota (Haley Ramm) and the central character in Cowgirls 'n Angels. Film premiered in 2014 at Dallas International Film Festival. It won the prize for exceptional achievement in feature film at the Newport Beach Film Festival. She was the superhero in the short film Sidekick written by Arrowverse alumni Jeff Cassidy. In 2017, she appeared in the comedy film, Funny Story. It was a runner up at the Slamdance Film Festival's Beyond programme in January 2018.[21] 22. It was awarded the Stolman audience prize for best American indie film at the Sonoma International Film Festival; [23] the audience award for the best narrative film at the Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival,[24Best feature award at the Santorini Film Festival;[25] as well as the grand jury award at the Barcelona Film Festival. 26. At the Southampton International Film Festival, Rickards received a nomination for lead actress in feature. The actress acted alongside James Maslow in We Need to Talk [27] in May 2019. The film was written by and directed by Todd Wolfe. It was chosen for the FirstGlance Film Festival, held in Philadelphia in the month of November, 2020[28] In addition, Rickards was awarded the award for best actress.
